The Best Ever Book of Funny Poems

The Best Ever Book of Funny Poems (Macmillan Children’s Books) Chosen by Brian Moses

You could say The Best Ever Book of Funny Poems is a “brilliantly funny anthology of the most giggle-worthy children’s poems”. Well that’s what the publisher says. But then, she/he would, wouldn’t he/she? An alternative approach might be to say this: Who knew there were so many funny poems? Long ones, short ones, kooky and spooky, limericks and epics, ticklish ones and pricklish ones. Funny poems about schools, pets, dragons, hyenas and polar bears. Rhymes about when mum used Pritt Stick instead of lipstick (tee! hee!) and even one about how to make a rhyme with ‘orange’ (bit of a cheat that one but it’s funny!). You’ll find familiar poets, Moses himself, Rogers Stevens and McGough, alongside world famous ones like Lewis Carroll and Anonymous. That Brian Moses, he’s havin’ a laff.
