Vault of Secrets

by Vivienne Sun aged 11

Secrets everywhere,
Not mine but mine to guard.
They trust me to keep them safe,
To keep them locked away.

Secrets falling, big and small,
Like a blanket made of scars.
Each one burning my skin,
Whispered quietly,
Eyes darting from side to side.
Whispering words that no one else can catch.

I am a vault of secrets,
They hand them to me to keep.
I am a vault of secrets,
Secrets that I will always keep.
