They

by Michelle Maazure aged 16

They say they want to know you, they say they have all the time for you

I laugh and they think I am crazy.
They don’t know the meaning of my laughter.
They don’t know that everything I say and do is a riddle.

If they want to “know” and “understand “ me all they need is to solve it.
That is the key.

You would expect them to understand you by now, you would expect after all this time
they are confident to talk about one aspect in your life with confidence
to the extent that it makes you teary.

You want to know me. Solve my riddle.

I want to tell them about me,
I want spill everything but I hold onto it for some reason.
It’s like my safe heaven,
If you want me to share you need to solve the riddle
