We start the day with register,
Reading out everyone’s names.
But none of us can sit quite still,
We’re daydreaming about games!
We excitedly walk into assembly,
Remembering to behave.
I sit right down and “show five,”
And sneakily give a wave.
Maths is one of my favourites,
There are five sides to a square!
…Ha! I tricked you all!
How many were aware?
Then there’s English,
For the storytellers and writers.
This classroom is full of future stars;
Doctors, astronauts and firefighters.
We’re artists and musicians,
Who love to sketch and paint.
And when our teachers see the mess,
They always almost faint!
Now let’s talk about science,
The human body and the mind.
Keeping fit and healthy,
And always remember to be kind.
“Is it lunchtime yet?” we ask.
Our teacher sighs, “Not yet!”
We ask her every single hour,
We frequently forget.
We are just kids, after all,
My mom says we have one mission:
“Have fun!” she tells me every day.
Today’s history lesson is on Great Britain!
