Long ago in Roman days,
People walked on dusty ways.
Soldiers marched with heavy feet,
Through the towns and busy streets.
Big stone buildings touched the sky,
Crowds would cheer and shout nearby.
Chariots raced super fast,
Making lots of noise as they passed.
Emperors wore crowns of gold,
And told stories brave and bold.
People traded bread and wine,
Under sunny skies that shined.
At the Colosseum loud cheers grew,
As fighters battled strong and true.
The Romans built great roads of stone,
Some are still around and known.
Now the Roman days are gone,
But we still learn what went on.
Broken temples, old and grey,
Tell us tales from yesterday!
Roman Age Part Two – coming soon
