Playtime

by Orli Luria aged 8

Kids are playing basketball
The choir is practicing in the hall
Kids are on the blue slide
Some are seeking those who hide
A girl’s fallen over and is crying
In football the goalie is trying
Then the whistle blows – alas
‘Playtimes over’ shouts Ms Bass
The younger kids weep and moan
The older kids get angry and groan
When we go back into school
I find that playtime is always cool
