Hospital Doctors

by Harshita Das aged 12

They remember the fighters who fought for justice
They remember the soldiers who risked their lives
They remember their recklessness and bravery
They remember their contributions and help
They praise their muscles and strength

But they don’t give the healers a second glance
The people who saved countless lives
Without killing anybody
I feel that
Doctors and nurses are the real soldiers

Infinite

by Harshita Das aged 12

Some people wish for an infinite life
I wish for infinite happiness
Because it is a number which is not defined
Nothing but our mind is infinite
For our mind cannot be defined

Northern Lights

by Jasreen Toor aged 12

The Northern Lights were there
I saw it one night
It was so beautiful
It was gleaming with light
Showers of color
Dawn through night
I couldn’t believe my eyes
It was an amazing sight
I’ll take you one day
And all of us will say
The Northern Lights has taken us away

Siblings

0
by Hareen Toor aged 8

Siblings are nice
Sometimes they’re mean
I can’t imagine how brothers would be
Screaming, fighting, that’s how it goes
And keep listening ’cause there is still more
Pushing, shoving, I’m sometimes in pain
For some reason they don’t even get out of the way
But it’s okay because that’s how it goes
By the way, I’ll be over there, massaging my toes

The Terrible Place

0
by Isha aged 8

Cold cold weather I see in this place of misery and no glee.
I do not want to be here in this miserable place
It is such big disgrace
I would rather go hiking in the highest mountain or swim in a gross fountain
This place is sad and it makes me super duper mad
Because this place is a big DISGRACE !!!

Suzy

0
by Akifah Abdin aged 9

Loneliness is my shadow,
I sit on the school benches everyday
Yearning for a change
All those bullies,
those fiendish fools
They tease me,
they laugh, call me names
Though one day there was a big
change

Suzy came,
She may have been ordinary
Though her powers extraordinary
All those bullies
They went away
Loneliness had gone away

Now all I have to do
is think
What would Suzy do?

Back to School

by Felix aged 13

I went to school again on Tuesday
I saw 20 friends and put my reading books
in the locker
I went to class
I was learning science that day
with red and blue potions to pink
Next I did maths.

The Number of Love

1
by Elsie aged 12

1 is the friendship between us,
2 is the cherry on top,
3 is the twinkle in your eyes,
4 is the kindness in your heart,
5 is your smile that makes me happy,
6 is deep,
7 is now amazing you are,
8 is so sweet,
9 is so dreamy,
10 is LOVE

Eternal Sleep

0
by Harshita Das aged 12

You took me for granted; my talents and all
Made me insignificant, you made me feel small
And only now do you shed a tear for me
Only now when I lie in an eternal sleep
But don’t worry; don’t express your sorrow
Don’t choke on grief
For I now watch your life; I wish you to be happy
And I know I will see you again
For sooner or later
Everyone shall join me; shall Iie as I do
In my eternal sleep

Climb

0
by Harshita Das aged 12

Somtimes, we wish to climb to the top
But we don’t have stairs to do so
We keep staring at the things on top
Wishing we had opportunities to climb
Sometimes the stairs won’t come to you
Sometimes, you will have to build a ladder on your own
And climb it slowly
you may slip once, twice, thrice
But if you don’t give up
You will reach the second floor
