Summer days

by Ellie aged 9

In the summer
I lie in bed in shorts and a vest

I go down stairs
and make myself some scrambled egg

In the summer I go to the beach
in my bikini

In the summer I go to the park
and have an ice cream

In the summer I like to do anything!!!!

I L.O.V.E. SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cats and Mice

by Ellie aged 9

Cats and mice are enemies, they get in to fights

The cat got stuck in the mouse hole
The mouse got through the cat flap

Cats and mice are enemies they get in to fights

Mice like cheese but cats like mice !!!!!

So now you see why they are enemies

Good bye bye

Change

by Ellie aged 9

Change can make you angry
Change can make you lost
Change can make you anxious
Change can make you lonely

Change can make you happy
In many different ways
Happiness can make you
EXCITED
Like it’s your birthday

So Change can be a good thing
You can be anything
And everything
CHANGE IS SPECIAL

End of Winter

0
by Alicia aged 9

When winter sighs
It’s time for it to die
Roses start to grow
And rivers are at flow
Cherry blossom trees
Get buzzes from the beez
When you get a sunny day
Hope it never blows away
The sound of children playing
I hope that you are saying
Hip hip hooray
How wonderful is this day!

Never Mind

3
by Ethan Farmer aged 8

though your heart may ache a while,
never mind,
though your face may lose its smile,
never mind,
for there is sunshine after rain,
and gladness follows pain,
so never mind.

I Will Wish Upon a Star

1
by Saniyah Ahmed aged 7

I will wish upon a star for…
The glow of a stingray’s navy delicate body
The first spark ever made in history
Lava as hot as the boiling sun

I will wish upon a star for…
The first slight blink from my baby brother
A clock with a friendly face
The first appetising food ever made

I will wish upon a star for…
A golden lamp which will take me around the world
Albert Einsteins’s last inventions
The first sip of the Red Sea

My star is fashioned from
Pluto’s iced tears
Fresh cherry blossom
Light blue fabric from a vintage frock.

Another Dimension

2
by Harshita Das aged 12

There is something magical about libraries
With the scent of beautiful, clean pages
And the swift silence that always seems to accompany it
And the line of books arranged on the shelves
Making you dizzy just looking at them

But that’s not why they are other-worldly
For in just a large room
There are as many dimensions as the books
The silence allows me to visit them peacefully
To merge with them
For each book has a history
Has a beautiful story
Each with its own beloved and hated characters
Each with a promise of something new
Which allow us to go to the moon
Or to another planet, far, far away
Or to a damsel in distress being saved by her prince
Endless possibilities
Endless dimensions
And they all have endless imaginations

River Rafting

0
by Harshita Das aged 12

The river was still
It silently, slowly and steadily
Flowed along the river banks
Our rafts, made of rubber
Rocked dangerously on the surface
As we rowed to sterner waters
Tides came and went
We squealed with glee
When the raft was on the verge of collapsing
We ducked and rowed
And when we got off
I felt giddy with happiness
Rather like the river
When it had playfully wrestled with the sand
