My Reality to Yours

by Celine Fathazam aged 10

The absence of darkness hurts me
as I rush to grab the same feeling
I wished away,
this feeling,
I can only think of what it could be,
that can’t be overused until it starts to fade away.
Colours filling my eyes,
I rush to the reason why.
Why I found all these generated images.
I look for a way you’d notice me, look at me,
just realise you’re all I see left for me.
And once I get to you,
I can look into what you’ve got
instead of all this I’ve been left with.

Hi Celine.. These poems are all very good, I like them a lot. I see they were numbered. Were they supposed to be in order? Also you sent them in blocks, more like prose poems. But I think they work better in short lines, where you can control the pace and rhythm. Once or twice you’ve put a rhyme in where it doesn’t quite make sense, and jars a bit. I look forward to more. Well done.
