Ginge, the Best Cat

by Lauren Thompson aged 10 (11 in June)

His eyes are luminous in the dark,
And his teeth, needle sharp, poses them like a shark.
His mouth shaped always in a smile,
He rolls over, oblivious to the world, purring all the while.
Ginge by colour, Ginge by name,
Every obstacle in life is a fun cat game.
His stripes climbing up his back,
No tears with him, his face puts love back on track.
With whiskers white and true,
His old 7 year old body still looks new.
Ginge by colour, Ginge by name,
The way he walks around reveals he has no shame.
The way he waves his pink padded paws,
The way he eats cutely chomping his little jaws.
His sweet innocent fur blowing in the wind,
And the way his tail spins,
Ginge by colour, Ginge by name.

Lovely poem, Lauren. Good work. But you don’t have to post lots of copies of the poem. One is enough. It usually takes me two or three days to post the poem on The Poetry Zone.
