The Silent Song of the Universe

1
by Violet Rhind aged 11

A bright star being born in endless space,
a Supernova fading out of view.
A proud creator notes her proper place,
atop a list of things wondrous and new.

Black holes incredible and amazing,
but black holes are not black in the slightest.
The black holes, very secretly blazing,
might just be the very ultra-brightest.

Far above, the galaxies will shimmer,
but in the centre, there’s infinite black.
Every star in the dark sky is glimmer,
but into the middle, there’s no way back.

The Universe is a wonderful thing,
but only the planets can hear it sing.

Dreams (version two)

by Zoya aged 8

Dreams are for everyone,
parents, grandparents, everyone you can think about.
Sometimes dreams are nice but other times there not.
Everyone loves dreams but some people don’t.
They could be romantic, sweet and fun
or scary, bad and disgusting.
When you go to Dreamland
whatever you want to happen will happen
You could have an ice cream, hot dog or anything you want.
So have fun nights in your dreams.

Dreams are amazing
I love them so much
They could be sweet, romantic and fun
Some could be scary, bad and disgusting.
Please enjoy your dreams because I sometimes do.
Dreams can be such fun
because if you think it you have it.
You could have ice cream, hot dogs and smoothies
Basically whatever you want.
Dreams are amazing.

Snow

by Medhaswi Kundu aged 10

We wake up to it
A white flurry of tiny crystals
Ever changing, ever intricate, ever beautiful
We smile.

Picture Perfect
We reach out to them, but they melt into icy water
They belong to another world
We will never get close enough to see
The intricate designs, the delicate architecture, the wonderful patterns
They are too cold.

Untouchable,
Never condescending to speak to us
Reserved, Calm and Wonderful.

Snow.

Opening a fresh mind,
Together we spend time,
Helping hands for everyone,
Establishing my dreams,
Raising a lovely me.

Boring and Fun

by Ameerah aged 7

School is boring
Home is boring
Parks are fun
Fun fairs are fun
Cousins are fun and friends are kinda fun but most of all everyone is fun!
Even teachers who might cheer you up
Games are fun
Everything is fun
Boys are boring for girls sometimes
And girls are boring for boys sometimes
If you are sad anyone can cheer you up
If you want to be alone you don’t have to worry

Ma’am Hadia has short black hair,
And she’s very fair.
She’s smart and has a big heart,
She’s cool and has a magical tool
With which she rules.
She makes school a happy place,
With fun and smiles on every face!

ADHD

by Charlie aged 12

Having ADHD is tough
You think about one thing then another
You can’t sit still, you can’t stand still
It’s hard to focus
You focus on this, you focus on that
Then you can’t remember
what you were focusing about
It’s hard to take a joke
when you’re sitting in class
You can’t resist getting up

Land of Blue that Comes to You

0
by Olivia aged 9

I know you might feel blue
But always make a thing to do
Nothing really matters
Make yourself a thing of green

You might feel glum or even weak
But stand up and show pride
Don’t worry about a little thing
That seems big inside
