The Someone I Know!

by Syeda Amna Adeel aged 12

Someone who I know
I won’t tell but I’ll show
The someone I know’s nose is extremely big,
and his cheeks red as fig,
his forehead dotted and brown,
and on his face always a frown.
His body is entirely filled with air,
while his head has a single hair.
His stomach holds the whole body’s strain,
while his big head has a missing brain.

Heroes

by Imogen Woodcock-smith aged 10

Not all heroes wear a mask and cape,
Some come disguised as silver-haired grandads
With twinkles in their eyes.
My grandad was wise and fierce,
Protecting family as well as his peers.

My hero is my grandad,
Who unfortunately recently passed.
And oh, sure, he certainly did make me laugh.

From mushroom foraging and midnight walks,
We gazed at stars,
And he made me comfortable to talk.

He was my hero, so big and brave,
A guiding light, even beyond the grave.

Dedicated to my Grandad (Mark Smith

Five More Days till Christmas!

1
by Syeda Amna Adeel aged 12

Five more day till Christmas,
Santa and his crew were working overtime,
making childrens’ dreams come true.
Santa’s elves were scurrying about the workshop floor,
except for little “Ty” who was napping by the door.
“Wake up little Ty there is no time to sleep!” Santa shouted,
“We’ve got millions of toys to make!
Now get up on your feet.”

The Path to Victory

1
by Ajax Banstola aged 10

Injury and misery are all part of victory,
But some day that victory could be history.
I bet it’s impossible to play,
and not get any sweat.
You know how they say teamwork makes the dreamwork,
But you’ve also got to outwork.
Think of a good moment,
Where you blew away your opponent.
Think of your special glory,
And tell me a success story.

Strict Parents

by Nina aged 10

I’ve snuck TikTok, Snapchat
I’ve snuck it all
And that’s just so I have someone to call
To my parents snap is a crime
And if I download I’ll be doing some time
They don’t know right now
But they’ll soon find out
What this ‘being in my room’ is all about
I have no privacy
None at all
They want to know who I’m about to call
They go through my history
They search through it all
Sometimes I just wanna cry and bawl

Animals

by Sophia aged 8

Skies are blue, grass is green

no better team than in an excited zoo

Animals zooming beside a lake

And in the lake the dolphins wave

In the sky seagulls say,

Oh, what an exciting zoo beside a lake

Bunnies

by Iona aged 10

Bunnies are adorable, at least I think that.
And they would look even cuter in a little dress and hat!
I think that you would like bunnies too but maybe they’re just not for you!

Choosing Respect

0
by Jomi Ikenna aged 12

Do you choose to be respectful?
Life would be so much better if you weren’t neglectful,
People, teachers friends not fundamental,
No one in life would be regretful.
Do you find it hard to do what’s right?
Ask Jesus to lead you to the light,
Day, night and afternoon,
Be respectful, it’s never too soon.

Wasps

by Abi and Avaya aged 9

We drew a wasp,
it got lost
We found it,
it flew and landed in a pit
They like sleeping
also they like creeping
They sting and wing
That’s the thing.

The wild haggis is wild,
He’ll gain scare a child,
He sleeps in the forest,
His dad is called Morris,
And the weather is always mild.
