I Thought I Heard a Tree Sneeze

I Thought I Heard A Tree Sneeze by Brian Moses (Troika Books)

This fun collection is described as ‘the very best of Brian Moses’ poems for young children’. There are undoubtedly plenty of verses to please lots of infants, but in my opinion there is much to entertain older children, too. Interestingly, most of the poems seem to be written from a young boy’s standpoint. That’s not a negative criticism, I rather like it. Most girls need little encouragement to read and often to then write in similar vein; boys are likely to relate enough to this collection to give them the confidence they sometimes require to turn thoughts into words. Big bold illustrations are by Ed Boxall.
