Me And My Alien Friend by Ed Boxall (Troika Books)

 There are some real gems in this lovely collection that really evokes the innocence, and sometimes the confusion, of childhood. Friendship is the theme. Several of the verses brought a lump to my throat, and others made me chuckle. This poet obviously remembers the minutiae of school and family life when he was young. And it is the little details that make this collection come to life. Nice illustrations by the author.
