Yesterday I Saw Tracy Island Waking Up

by Alex Carmen aged 10

Yesterday I saw Tracy Island waking up
Curved swimming pools opened wide
Tropical trees jumped out of the curled soil
Before lurching backwards to the gentle hum of Thunderbird 2

Yesterday I saw Tracy Island partying
Thunderbird 1 launched like a firework
Shooting up into the sky
While the piano danced to its thrust

Yesterday I saw Tracy Island blinking
Pictures open and closing their glowing eyes
To alert the island base of any emergency anywhere around the world
Lab control panels constantly opened their blood red eyes when experiments were
Going on

Yesterday I saw Tracy Island waving
Diving boards wavde Thunderbird 1 away
While leaves waved at the villa’s smoke going into the air

Yesterday I saw Tracy Island settling down
White piano keys telling their final tale
Pool tables rolling their sleepy balls away
While blinking pictures shut their eyes for good
Desks hugged all their valuables
Before everything went to sleep
