Yesterday I Saw the Classroom…

by Hazal, Summer, Isabelle, Mayank and Callie aged 10

Yesterday, I saw the classroom arousing,
Curtains opened to the rise of the sun
Chairs untucked themselves
Windows stretched out as the scholars bolt in
Whilst aromas of early morning coffee wandered in
To the tune of birds’ tweets, birds got us on our feet

Yesterday, I saw the classroom munching
Bins nibbling on the repulsive litter
Doors gobbling up pupils as they scurry inside
Appetizing scents of paper gloriously filled the classroom
The window grazes on the fresh, minty air

Yesterday, I saw the classroom partying
The pencils manoeuvred across the page
Trays rattled to the beat of knees
Breezes of the air compelled the pages to do a Mexican wave

Yesterday, I saw the classroom snoozing
Chairs tucked back into their cosy bed
The book corner read a bedtime story
Good night class!
