The Wrath of Sea

by Harshita Das aged 11

Ah, to be back here again
With the glistening sand, on the beach
Silently enjoying the Sun’s heat
Staring at the ocean, so out of reach

The sand as soft as a cushion
With the waves dancing around
The sea laid, to relax
With splashes all around

But there could be another day
Where the sea’s nature could completely change
Looking at the laid down waves
Imagining a storm, would be kind of strange

Yet you never know, when the sea’s angry
Frustrated, destroying everything in its path
Rainstorms, tsunami, anything whatsoever
Would be the sea’s wrath

Now that I look at the sea again
With its calming waves and more
I know that, even the calmest creature
Can turn angry, can turn sore

So be ready for the unexpected
Although, the unexpected is very unlikely
Be prepared for anything
Just like I am, for the wrath of the sea
