Wolfie

by Holly Fane de Salis aged 10

Howling always growling,
Pouncing on her prey.
A rabbit or weasel?
Who cares at the end of the day?

The full moon shining brightly,
Down upon the beach.
The locals know the story of
The girl who liked to preach:

“I’ve met a stripy Tiger,
Gone swimming with an eel,
I’ve battled with some grizzly Bears
But the one I want to feel…

I need to see a Werewolf
In action on the prowl,
I want to see one pouncing
I want to hear one howl.”

Then suddenly in front of her,
A lady dressed in blue:
“Maybe I can help you
Make all your dreams come true.”

A change happened that night,
The girl was never the same,
And when the next full moon came out,
She disappeared; never seen again.
