I wish Christmas was every day,
though I would gain so much weight!
I’d gobble up everything, even the stuffing
On Mum’s new china plate.
I’d get beautiful presents,
ribboned and wrapped and signed,
I’d get the World’s Best Frisbee
With gold tape and silver lined
Christmas carols all the while
Angelic voices loud and clear
Sadly, the only time we get this,
is the Christmassy time of year
I love the shining lights,
As they brighten the night sky!
They shimmer and glow, bang and crash
As I whisper, breathless, “Oh, my!”
Here’s the sad thing about Christmas,
It only comes once a year!
Well, what can I do?
Gaze wistfully at that stupid calendar, just sit and stare . . .
