Whispers Of Goodbye

by Seerat Narula aged 11

The silence now is where your laughter used to be
Like the calm of dawn it’s too quiet for me
Though you are gone your memory still stays
In my little heart, it will never fade away

Grief is a river, long and wide
It is all I try to hide
It pulls me down, yet I can’t just drown
I carry your absence like an untold crown

Slowly, slowly, my tears fall
Still I hear your grief call
I can’t live without you
I can’t breathe without you

My love for you weighs a ton
You’re my sun
You’re my moon
The thing is that you left me too soon
