Walking Away

by Millie Q aged 9

I’m walking away from life,
away from hopes, away from dreams.
I’m walking away from here,
away from land, away from sea.
I’m walking away from there,
away from the sun, away from the moon.
I’m walking towards my goals,
but being away from life, hopes and dreams,
away from land and sea, away from the sun,
and away from the moon means,
I’ve lost all the troubles, but also the things I need to survive.
I try to turn back, but I can’t.
The incorrect is luring me in,
I cannot move now, I cannot talk now.
