The silky clouds were draped over the moon,
Veiling the beautiful, silvery orb
For the sun believed, that his beloved moon’s ethereal beauty,
Was only his to behold,
And gently, ever so gently, I watched her flit
As she stood with her golden cascading curls,
All dimly moon-lit,
The apron of her dress was a confused muddle of embroidery,
All squiggles of befuddling thread, bewildering and confused
While, I glanced at the goblet that she clutched,
Her frail self was now glimmering, all illuminated with;
The shimmering beam of magic!
And with unicorn horns around her neck,
She gazed up at the moon, and whispered;
Her voice soft and beautiful,
“ ‘O’ fragile clouds, soft, fluffy blobs of ecstasy!
I beseech you to unveil the moon’s beautiful face,
The ripples of my lake call out to her slender rays,
They yearn for her silver to dapple their waters,
‘O’ clouds come away! I implore you to-
Crouch delicately in my goblet,
Where you rightfully belong,”
I watched the clouds gently slide sideways,
With the air of the curtains of the theatre,
And glide into the damsel’s awaiting goblet,
As they clustered together, touching the ground,
They formed a blurry, enshrouding mist
Though the girl seemed diminished, I saw her stretch her lanky fingers,
Murmuring softly, she swiveled around,
Looking over her shoulder, she smiled
For she was who unveiled the moon!
And carried clouds in her fragile goblets,
For it was she who unveiled the moon!
I watched her unicorn spring up, hook the silvery orb,
On his slender, slender horns
Happily carrying it away,
And just as dusk falls, I stand on my twilit balcony,
And behold faint traces of her gorgeous unicorn,
With the moon on his horns, he bounds through the sky,
And lets her mount the throne of the world,
Spreading her gorgeous shimmer around,
While smiling,
Unveiled.
