Time

by Charlottei aged 10

Slowly turning
Tick tock
Don’t waste it – it’s burning
watch the clock

Students staring
Seconds turn
The bell rings and teachers not caring
Watch the minutes burn

Hours and hours
Silently creeping
Day the moon cowers
At night the sun’s sleeping

A month, a year
A tick not a chime
Suddenly it’s all clear
This is time

Time you are using reading this poem
Phones computers online
Don’t take it for granted
Or waste your chance
The loved ones they’re yours not mine
