The Treasure Chest

by Charlottei aged 10

under the sea
remember the key
wood, dark
opened with a spark
shiny silver lock
hidden within the rock
the treasures within
begin to grin
sparkling jewels
fish pass in schools
silver and gold
a map to unfold
upon the map an ugly stain
beside me falls an anchor chain
a tentacle wraps around the chest
and lures in its new found guest
the vanished chest a tragic loss
but in future our paths will never cross
