The Pet Worm

by Annabel and Harvey Quinn aged 5 (just about 6) and 10 (just about 11)

There once was a girl who had a worm!
She put it up in everybody’s faces and it made them squirm!
The girl’s name was Lucy and she loved her pet
And one muddy day a new worm she met
“Oh dear, oh worm, I love you more
Even though I can’t buy you from the store
You’re better than chocolate, better than sweets”
And in Lucy’s skirt she puts the worm between her pleats.
I love my worm, I love you too, I really want you to stay
So never, ever go away!
