The Moon

by Sophia aged 9 almost 10

The Moon is a thin cat’s whisker,
A tiny sliver of light,
The Moon is God’s monocle,
Shining on the blanket of night.

The Moon sighs softly,
As the wind blows by,
It’s a bowl of milk,
On the blanket of night.

The Moon shines its glory upon us,
with moonbeams ever so bright,
The Moon shines, shines,
Glowing on the blanket of night.

The Moon is like a silver orb,
Illuminating everything in sight,
Its calming light will guide us home,
Smiling on the blanket of night…
