The Magic Box

by Joshua Eshelby aged 8

I will put in my box,
a zooming train dashing across the tracks,
the sound of the chirping birds begging for food,
Buckingham Palace ruled by the king.

I will put in the box
the taste of a pastry from a bakery,
the feel of the hot sun burning your skin,
a big red postbox posting your letter.

I will put in the box
the London Eye along with Big Ben,
the Natural History Museum and others too,
the sight of a white horse carrying a carriage.

I shall walk in my box,
just before I go to the museum,
then I will dash to Regents Park,
before I go to the zoo.

My box is fashioned from sparkly ice and tough steel,
nutcrackers are guarding the vibrant box,
its hinges are the finger joints of Santa,
finally there are gold stripes covered on the box
