The Lonely Flower

by Amelia Green aged 10

Out in the autumn air, the lonely flower sat,
She was flooded in a pool of tears.
All she wanted is a friend,
The flower is as blue as the deep, deep ocean.
Every day she looks out, sulking,
The children have taken all of her friends,
And she’s scared they’ll take her too…

Out in the rain, cold and dark,
She started to shout and scream.
The leaves started to fall on her,
Bruising her glamorous petals.

One day someone heard her cry,
So they picked her up gently.
They put her in their garden,
Under a huge oak tree.
It was cosy, breezy and quiet,
And she is no longer alone…
