The Little Squirrel

by Medhaswi Kundu aged 9

Superbly climbing up the tallest trees,
Quietly gathering nuts
Unassisted, you hide your winter meals
In the forest, your place, your home.
Royal is your bushy tail,
Rain or sun, you make your way
Enraptured, I stare at you without fail
Little squirrel, how are you?
