The Last Night of Laughter

by Shreeansh Pradhan aged 10

We used to talk in light filled rooms,
We used to laugh for years,
We ate we slept, we lived with joy,
No dread, no fear.

One night, it changed forever,
The words burst out from my heart,
You went away, you never came back,
We were both torn apart.

I walk in the house where we once lived,
Memories of you left behind,
Your voice echoes in the hollow rooms,
That I yearn for but cannot find .
