The Hurricane

by Freya Dunlop aged 11

The peak of the hurricane’s attack has just happened.
The two girls were being pushed so hard
that they were barely moving one meter per minute.
Houses, furniture, telephone poles, and even trees
that had been ripped from the ground
by this terrible hurricane
were among the debris that was flying everywhere.
When the flooding reached its peak,
Amelia found herself almost neck-deep in the water,
while Suzy had to almost swim her way home.
