The Harbor’s Silent Rebel

by Seerat Narula aged 11

The harbor’s calm, The waters sweet
A safe place where the ships meet
She rests in the calm of the sheltered bay,
While dreams of the open sea drift away.

No storms, no battles no waves to ride
Just a normal day, wondering what is it world wide
In the harbor, ships rest, calm and still,

Yet they’re crafted for the waterful thrill
The ships in the harbor, its purpose is unseen .
Yet, within she still dares to dream.

Let it be, free and live its life
Could you see the fear in her eyes
Yet, you still have to be so cruel
It is so much more crucial

So let it play with the waves
And never make it your slave
As ships were made for more than peace
To play in the water were that waves increase

It was not here to sit and stay
It was meant to roam, to sail away.
For in the heart of every ship
There’s always a ship waiting to dip

The harbor is warm, but it’s not its home
A ship is made to sail, to roam
She wants leave the harbor, sail away
And the ship is meant to only play

So it waits, hoping for the day
When it can leave and sail away
To find its place, to feel the breeze
And live the life it was meant to lead
