The Frog’s Croak

by Isabella aged 13

There once was a frog from Peru
Who loved to sing the whole day through
But all the other frogs would groan
His voice was like a dying moan

He tried to practice every night
To hit the notes just right
But even with his best attempt
His croaks were like a bad contempt

One day he met a toad who said
“Your voice is not so bad, my friend
It’s just a matter of technique
Let me show you, it’s not unique.”

So they sat down by the pond
And the toad began to bond
He taught the frog to use his lungs
And hit the notes without the grunge

Now every frog and every toad
Gathers round to hear him croak
He sings with joy and no more fear
And everyone now gives a cheer

So let this be a lesson to you
Don’t be afraid to try anew
With a little help from a friend
You’ll find success in the end!
