The Backyard Boy

by Mackenzie Close aged 11

One day in the 1960s,
A boy had two trampolines
In his backyard,
All day he played in his backyard.

Months went by, he still loved his garden,
He tells his friend, he says beg you pardon.
His parents are so proud,
Bounce, bounce, it’s so loud.

Years go by,
Will he stop wanting to play,
Will he take a break?
No is the answer
but what will break
are the trampolines…
