Sybil Snake

by Carol Holly aged 11

Ssssssssssss goes Sybil snake
Ahhhhhhhh go the people on the street
Ohhhhhhhhh calls the emperor, who strides across his palace
Shhhhhhh goes Sybil, as a beautiful women stands in her place

Now the emperor was calling at once he must be married
to this beautiful maiden
Yesssssssssss Sybil snake as she glided toward him
Now listen to my haunting song as I dance

Sleep Sleep, my sweet peas, as you are under
my spell, now sleep tight, good night
And with that she slithered away

She kissed him on the lips
she transformed into a beautiful women and kissed him again
took him to her lair and kept him there
And thus began their nice life
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Hi Carol. You’ll see I had to edit your poem quite a bit as this is a family site, and young children see it, even the teenage pages.

I think that the poem is really good because when I was reading it I was thinking of what it would be like if it was in a book with pictures
