Sweet treats for Halloween
I am sitting… waiting.
I can see the kids coming towards my door.
Then I hear it, that familiar urgent knock.
I open the door and hear the words ‘trick or treat’.
I take action,
throwing mealworms at the pack.
The trick or treaters step back in shock and run away in disgust.

I suppose, you the reader,
Are wondering why I did such a thing?
Well,
My Dad, a lolly enthusiast,
gorged himself on our sweet treats,
falling into a sugar coma.
Flashing lights, sirens and paramedics,
provided the tinsel for my Halloween experience.

As for the Trick or Treaters,
their Halloween lollies were wrapped in fear and sweet in laughter.
What more could you want?
