Sweet Little Sorrow

by Amy aged 11

Sweet little Sorrow,
quiet as a cat,
sneaks in through the window
and lays down on my lap.

Sweet little Sorrow,
claws my hands and knees,
oh,
sweet little Sorrow,
leave
me
be!

Sweet little Sorrow,
seeps in through my heart,
oh, sweet little Sorrow!
tears it apart!

And then as quickly as it came,
it leaves me with a scar,
oh sweet little Sorrow,
oh,
it ain’t be sweet tomorrow!
