Stuck Underground

by Veer Shah aged 11

Stuck Underground,

Nowhere to go

Time goes so slow

Waiting for the fighting to be over

When you’re lying on the floor in Dover

And all you can do is wait and cry

For the people that die,

You wonder what’s going on

Because you’re

Stuck underground.

Below the ground

You can hear all sorts of noises

You can feel yourself vibrate when the tanks are moving

And from the tiny window at the top

You can see heavy feet marching

The feet of kind guys that have to battle for us

Whilst we hope and sit with nothing to do

Because you’re

Stuck Underground.

Once you’ve had enough

Your mind starts to rattle

You’re desperate to go to the surface

To find out the truth

But after some time and you don’t hear the noises

You don’t feel the tanks

You can’t see the feet

So, you switch on the T.V,

And you realise that

Finally, you’re not

Stuck Underground.
