The Sound Collector

by Maggie aged 10

(after Roger McGough)

a stranger called this morning
dressed all in black and grey
put every sound into a bag
and carried it away

the ding-dong of the doorbell
the sizzling of the pan
the the barking of the dog
the crackling of the can

Hi Maggie. You have to try and think of lots of your own sounds that aren’t in the original poem.
