My paws tread lightly upon soft snow,
Sinking down and slinking low.
My pelt is white as summer clouds,
My soft kit fur fluffed up proud.
I’m dappled by the light of day,
My ears twitching; I hear prey
Silently, I lift my tail,
Sniffing for a scent trail.
I prick my ears,
Scuffling in the snow is all I can hear.
Prowling through the drift,
Beneath my paws I feel snow shift.
My muscles tense, ready to lunge,
But I slip, and into the snow I plunge!
