The Sadness…
No brightness, light is dim,
I don’t really remember him.
His eyes were blue,
Sunk with sadness,
He was the silence of the crew.
He would do no bad.
When he went,
All was loud,
Time stopped,
And men’s eyes filled with tears,
While the ship’s anchor started to rust,
It felt like everything was going to bust.
Once the Navy was a place of defence ,
Now it’s a place of greed.
If he was here, he’d understand.
The evil pain that circled me,
I was a monster of blood,
Like a vampire in the sun.
So much burning, bombs and fires,
Nothing here is normal anymore.
I wish he had come back,
Away from the shadowy figure,
Who haunts him to the end.
Oh poor Frank Donald Connable.
