Floating, rippling, in the waves,
Yet staying in one place
Watching seasons pass by through the years.
Winter to spring
Spring to summer
Summer to fall,
All alone,
Waiting for the cycle to start again.
You shout, nobody hears.
You watch as waterlilies pass by,
And your heart begins to sink
As you realize the water is now still, unmoving.
You hear a voice on the wind, saying
“You are never alone.”
These words ring in your head again and again
And you know it’s true,
Day after day you think about who had said
Such hope filling words.
One day, you find them sitting on a rock
Singing the most beautiful tune you’ve ever heard.
It lights up a part of you that you thought was gone.
For the first time in forever you feel… hope.
