Scaredy Cat

As soon as I went upstairs for the night
I saw something that gave me a fright,
Then screaming and shouting loudly I fled,
But after a dozen excuses I crept upstairs in dread.
Waiting for me was the creature,
Whose claws were its most distinguishing feature.

It’s eyes were like like light-bulbs setting fire to my spine,

And I fell to the floor with the drop of a coin…
