Road Safety

by Harshita Das aged 14

Just another night, driving on unlit roads
The only means of sight’s the broken traffic light
Beaming brightly from shadows
And the lit windows of skyscraper towering from a height

Just another day, another busy day
Cars clogged up in the nearest crossings
Surely, a single bike would go unnoticed in this chaotic fray
Just another narcissistic fool, who’s above the rules, scoffing

Just another week, another couple of hundred deaths
Broken safety appliances – and someone’s forever lost their sight
For every careless driver, an innocent is robbed of his breath
Follow the rules, follow the traffic lights

Here’s a challenge for you, Harshita. Research haiku poems. They look very simple but good oness are very difficult to write. Write me some haiku poems.
