The river was still
It silently, slowly and steadily
Flowed along the river banks
Our rafts, made of rubber
Rocked dangerously on the surface
As we rowed to sterner waters
Tides came and went
We squealed with glee
When the raft was on the verge of collapsing
We ducked and rowed
And when we got off
I felt giddy with happiness
Rather like the river
When it had playfully wrestled with the sand
