Planets

by Samiksha aged 9

Planets were floating around the sun,
Playing games of tag,
Getting dizzier every second,
Becoming tired from the fun.

Later when the planets slowed,
Glitter shone from far away,
A hole transformed from old stars,
And on Earth it had been a day.

A month had passed on beloved earth,
A solar eclipse started,
Time had come,
Uranus tilted,
Sleeping on mid-space,
Astronauts raced to their rockets,
Fly away, fly away.

Neptune froze but didn’t give up,
It’s far away from the sun,
Venus burned itself,
But again it started to run!

Earth got happier and happier,
As it obeyed the sun once more,
June came and went,
And in July,
Heat came from the core.

Then a year passed on Earth,
Astronauts went away,
Planets ran around the sun again,
But Pluto,
Flew away.
