Peace at Christmas

by Alfie Hayes aged 11

This Christmas we remember the many who lost their lives in France
Some were watching the football some were having a dance
As we celebrate with glee, it’s Christmas yippee
The Paris attack will go down in history
We leave out our carrots, milk and mince pies –
we shall never forget – people are saying their goodbyes
We think of Christmas in a land of fir tree and pine
We think of Christmas in a land of laughter and mulled wine
Christmas is the joys and and the snow that is white
Christmas is the joys of the star on the tree that shines bright
Remember the 129 in France
Some were watching the football some were having a dance
