A Log, a Dog, a Cat and a Bat

0
by Amy Kent aged 8

There once was a log, who looked like a dog.
When anyone walked past him,
they threw him like a log.

There once was a dog, who looked like a log.
When anyone walked past her,
they called her log dog.

There once was a cat, who looked like a bat.
When anyone saw him,
They said, “What’s that?!”

There once was a bat, who looked like a cat,
When anyone saw her,
They bat- tered her and ran away!

Once there was a bird,
who looked just like a nerd.

And he wasn’t even a nerd,
Poor bird!

Down Our Street

by Sandy McMeekin aged 9

As I was walking down our street,
I met a man who had no feet!
He had no shoes,
He had no toes,
He had no laces, tied in bows,
And when he said, “Oh hello dear.”
I ran back down our street in fear!

I felt some dust,
And felt a star,
Put them together;
They make a star,
With some dust.

I found star dust!

I once saw a unicorn in the bright blue sky
I saw it flying ever so high
I saw it in the day, I saw it dance and sway
