My House…

2
by Tazkia Dokrat aged 8

My house is big
What’s a fig,
Sometimes you get bored
A laptop I can’t afford.

I have lots of clothes
And some bread loaves,
I love this (Poetry) Zone
When I’m on it I don’t moan!

It Gives Me a Headache

0
by Harshita Das aged 10

It gives me a headache
Just to think about it
Being really hard to do
And can’t be done by a nitwit

I feel really tired
To do all the sums
From computer systems
To names of grasshoppers’ hums

Geography, Science and Maths
And all sorts of things
Including mythical creatures
With six legs, and some with a pair of wings

Please don’t give me another one
It really gives me an headache
These quizzes are so hard
Stop giving me so many, for goodness’ sake!

The Magic Box

0
by Kane Watts aged 11

I will put in my box
A hurting hand with a handful of scars
A chip of gold in a block of lead
The smashed rock on the sandy sea shore

I will put in my box
A helpless snowman with a loose head
A drop of contaminated water
The flash of a fish’s scale

I will put in my box
The air of their last breath
The water of their last drink
The food of their last meal

I will put in my box
The tears of my first day in school
The cry of my parents leaving
The scream of being alone

I will put in my box
The sickness of a disgusting drink
The laughter of good friends
The stench of ruined shoes

My box is fashioned from gingerbread
and raw chocolate and vegetables
with clouds on the lid and secrets in the corners
It’s hinges are the toe joints of my feet

School

School is boring, school is dumb but
school is full of lots of fun.
School is helpful to everyone
Sometimes its dumb and full of fun

St Nicholas Night

0
by Bareerah Uzair aged 8

Snowball fights are just such fun,
But if you’re getting hit by one…
RUN RUN RUN!
Build a snowman with a big top hat,
Carve a face then…
PAT PAT PAT!
Elves sing this song ,
Because their days are long,
“We work all day,
We work all night,
To get your presents,
JUST RIGHT.”

Santa looks at your list,
But to naughty people,
He shakes his fist,
Good ones get the prize,
Bad ones start to cry,
Hang your stockings with care,
Surprises will come,
St.Nick will be there.
Put up your tree
Purple or green,
Pink or blue,
yellow or black,
Fake or real,
With a sprinkle of snow on the top,
POP POP POP!

Put a star on the top,
With baubles all around,
And a big roast dinner,
Lots and lots to go round,
It’s time, it’s time,
FOR CHRISTMAS!

The Magic Box

by Bailey-lea Tonge aged 11

I will put in the box
The feeling of the sunny sparks touching my velvet skin
The swish of the rotten salty sea shivering across the Atlantic
And fire balls flow from the sky like shooting stars in the night

I will put in my box
Pieces of gorgeous glitter sprinkles and buttercream icing
The breeze through my hair and the smell of strong cider vinegar
running through my mind

I will put in my box
Crispy sand that rumbles its way across the beach
A grandad riding a pink BMX
And a little girl with a wooden walking stick

My box is fashioned from silver and steel
With hinges of chocolate fudge brownies
The lid is covered in big fluffy marshmallows

I fly high through Mount Everest in my box
Whilst gliding across the snow and I
Whistle quietly

My Box

0
by Ella Mcgrorty aged 10

My box

I will put in my box
The smell of a sweet Spanish dinner on a hot summer day
Fire from of the fire place that kept us warm
The tip of a earing touching my ear

I will put in my box
The bounce of snow on a trampoline
The sip of coke the first time I tried it
A leaping spark from the dancing fire work

I will put in my box
One wish spoken by a little girl
The best joke of my firm friend
And the first word of a baby

I will put in my box
The eternal seconds of an eclipse
My brother on a broomstick
My cousin on a white horse

My box is made from
Water, gold and diamonds
With stars on the side and secrets in the corners
Its hinges are flares of hope
I shall swim in my box
In the great waving sea
Of the Atlantic
Then come across an island with golden sand
The colour of a crown
I will put in my box stories of my life so that I shall never forget

I Will Put in the Box

0
by Hannah Crayford aged 11

I will put in the box

The fur of my fluffy hamsters
The cold water hitting my feet
Salty sea shells on the sea shore.

I will put in the box

A drop of oil in the steamy pan
A silent classroom
A drop of rain hitting the sealing.

I will put in the box

My nan’s dog
My brother
A fluffy hedge.

I will put in the box

My holiday from Cornwall
At the strand
Makenzie!

I will put in the box

My pets
The school
The hospital.
I will put in the box
All of my sweets
My friends
The great days of my life.

I will put in the box

My box is fashioned with games tablets rain books
And trees.

The Magic Box

I will put in the box

The first smile of a baby tortoise
The train to Bognor Regis
And the first kittens I saw

I will put in the box

My first swimming lesson
The silly fluttering moth
And the great atmosphere of history

I will put in the box

A cold winter blizzard
A first wintery Christmas
And the freezing white snow

I will put in the box

My fun childhood
The gratefulness of my birth
And the first songs I heard

My box is made from ice gold and silver crystal
With hinges fashioned from precious
Blood red rubies
I will play in my box on a golden beach
And wake in my snowy winter’s garden
