I Will Put in the Box

I will put in the box
The principle spoken word on a stormy night
Flowers from my first outing

I will put in the box
A primary feeling of my old dog
A piece of snow from my first snowy day
The gerbils – I once owned

I will put in the box
My introductory fabulous Christmas
The original snowman I struggled to make
The first present I opened

I will put in the box
The first look at my bulldog
The first game I played with my brother
The time I made my eldest smile

I will put in the box
The first glimpse of my bulldog having a fit
The sadness of his stress
The upsetting memories stuffed in the corners
My box fashioned from old pictures and wood
The super-glued doors stay shut
The box doesn’t let anyone in

I shall travel in my box
To LA
To see the shining lights

I will put in my box
My primary spoken word
My first dog that died on Boxing Day
And having my first sister

I will put in my box
The fundamental time I won a football match
My last year at nursery
And meeting David Beckam

I will put in my box
The softness of my first blanket
Two birds
And all of my family

I will put in my box
The joy of snow
The sadness of rain
And the happiness of summer

My box is fashioned from
The glamour of a diamond gem
The shine of a golden ring
And hinges of a football pitch

I shall kick my box with laughter
To there and back again

I will put in my box
The muddy rugby pitch of my first game
The memory of being carried off the pitch after scoring
The smile of seeing Santa in his grotto
My very first snowman

I will put in my box
My first birthday wish
When I tried to write my name
The memory of my tooth being pulled out

I will put in my box
The ball ball I made in school
The poem I made for my mum
The scream of falling off my bike
My first hug

My box is made from
Darkness and light
Happiness and fear

In my box I will
Lie in the light
But not forget the darkness

I will put in the box
The fan of a famous Elephant
Fur of a crazy cookie cat
Sea-salted shells on the sea-shore

I will put in my box
A baby’s bottle waddling in to a crib
A drop of spiced soup
A kick of a baby boy

I will put in the box
Three shows spoken in Japanese
The last coin of an ancient grandad
The first smile of a baby

I will put in the box
A snowy day and a giant snowball
A cat in a hole
And a rabbit in a tree

My box is fashioned in gold and silver and steel
With dinosaurs on the lid and weird substance in the corners
Its hinges are the arms of a griffin

I shall stroke dinosaurs in my box
On the mountains of China
Then lay it on top off a cushioned bed
The colour of wolves

The twinkling of the Christmas tree shining over the town
The happiness of my Nan touching my check with her small tight hand
The joy of all the big family together

A little tear dripping down my check when the last sigh came out
The little pompom running up to me in my tight squeezed house
The first word of my mother that I’ll never forget
The scream of the humongous children accidently running over me

The ear screeching scream from my mother and father
The scream of my Nan when she found out
The little push of my mum pushing me again
into the enormous screaming school

The last sigh from my sister leaving
The last news that my family will never forget
The new baby arriving
The excitement of my uncle

My box is fashioned with the first snowball
The crystal from my mother’s ring
My lid of my box is made with the burning flame from my first BBQ
Its hinges are made from the finger joints of the rarest dinosaur

I will put in my box
A tear tripping franticly down the tight cheek of a pale, tired child
The happiness of setting my eyes upon a dehydrated, dull damaged dog
The enjoyment of awakening to letters swirling round and round my head

I will put in my box
The last touch of my gran’s hand laid gently upon my head
The sadness of the screams coming from my mum’s room
The shock of my finger touching a fuse box

I will put in my box.
The last bark of my big brown dog
The first kick of my baby sister
The 11+ nagging and screaming in my head

I will put in my box
The embarrassment of failing my tests
A tear of my cousins when he lost the race
The sadness of my friend leaving me forever

I will put in my box
The happiness of a new family member arriving
A muddle with hanging my Christmas lights up
The enjoyment of going to Greece with my family and friends

My box is fashion with hope, kindness and friendship
It has messages on the lid and faith in the corners
The hinges are made of the branches deep from the Amazon

I shall explore my box
In the deepest caves of Ireland
Then stumble upon a cottage the colour of creamy chocolate

In my box

Jumping jumpers jumping high, reaching for the great green sky
Flinging up down and around, trying to reach the sky
My dad and my mum coming together and then falling apart
Sharing and taking the precious piece

In my box

Small proportions of breakfast, lunch and dinner
Being pushed by giants around a raging rose red park
Tumbling down a humongous hill
Building blocks built high and the singing of children

In my box

Multi-coloured Lego from the nursery trapped in my heart
My box is made of hardened blue tack
which reminds me of my life now
My box is ALSO made of gold and has cat claw hinges

I shall look over my box

Keeping the memories safe in my heart

The Magic Box

I will put in the box
My singing standing out in the silence
Getting stared at to make me put down my head
Laughing out loud

I will put in the box
A stance the width of my shoulders
Watching the ball soar through the sky
A swing and a lunge and there it flies

I will put in the box
Dog fur softly resting on my skin
Holding a puppy as it lays on my lap
As its head rests on my leg

I will put in the box
Holding my breath as I swim with an ecstatic feeling
Wrapping a warm towel around me
Taking off my goggles and placing then on the side

My box is fashioned by glistening memories and diamonds
the lid is made from emeralds
and safely hides my secrets

I shall sprint in my box
On the long white track
And finish in proudness

My Heart

0
by Maisie Clinton

The colour of marmalade
Stuck in the sky,
Under clouds of the past.
And the stillness of my heart
Rang bells,
From the shards of glass.

Ignite the stars,
Such a beautiful sight
As it illuminated my path.
The moon absquatulated;
Leaving a quite ringing,
From my beating heart.

Guarded walls lay about
My hurting heart,
Tall as trees, strong as rock.
Whispers from my aching heart,
Try to answer
The other lonely heart.

Here is the Cat

There were a lot of cats
They always sat on mats
They did not like the bats
That were very fat
