What IS Christmas Really About?

What is Christmas really about?

Christmas, a time of pure joy
For every little girl and every little boy
The sound of laughter, a sweet tune to the ear
The sound of a child’s happiness, makes me pleased to hear
The crunch of the Christmas stocking sitting on the bed
The thought of all the presents you’ll get, whirring in your head.
The sound of Christmas carols, as beautiful as can be
Sitting down on Christmas Eve, near the Christmas tree
The tingle of Christmas day, shooting up your spine
Makes you think how Christmas is such a special time
Spending time with your family, hugging with dad and mum
I hope you enjoy this Christmas, and the many more to come!

Christmas Morning

On Christmas morning
Dressing up the Christmas Tree
Presents under the tree
Joyful songs
Together all day long
Singing jingle bells
Christmas carols
Singing
All day long

The Bee Hive

0
by Maithily Nautiyal aged 11

Near the sea
I met one of my best friends
Miss Bee.
She cried,”Please help me.”
In finding my hive which was near a tree,
I said, “But first tell me what does it look like?”
When I left my hive last night
There was a thing near it
Which is called a ‘bike’.
After searching a lot
I found the hive,
Which was near a big tree

Winter season’s here
so get in your warm gear
Don’t shed a tear
just get up and cheer
Spring will soon be near
even if your name’s mia
just relax
Winter’s here

My House is a ZOO!

by Tazkia aged 8

My house is a zoo
Seriously, I’m telling you,
Animals everywhere
So… Beware!

From fish who like to swish
To a bunny with no money,
There’s nowhere to walk
I have no pet hawk!

My house is a zoo
Seriously, I’m telling you,
I’ve even got a cat
Who just sits on a mat.

I love them
My name ain’t Em
They can be a pain
But they do have their own brain

I Will Put in the Box

0
by George Bailey aged 10

I will put in the box
The swish of a salty sea on a summer day
Fire from the gaps of an expensive grill
The salt of the sea splashed on my superb face

I will put in the box
A teddy with a rumbling belly
A gulp of the tastiest smoothie from Sainsbury’s
A leaping spark from a burning sparkler

I will put in the box
Nine bright lives from a my cat
The last walk from a dying nanny
The first step from a baby

I will put in the box
The first seconds of a sunrise
A boy on a mobility scooter
An old gran on a bike

My box is decorated with glass and diamond and platinum
With suns on the lid and stories in the corners
The hinges are blazes from an ancient volcano

I shall run in my box
On a great wildly coloured racing track
Then have a break on a grassy field
The colour of a ripe leaf

Magic Box

by Ashton aged 11

In my box I will put

My brother so tall and strong
When the sun smiled at me
The first time I ate bacon

In my box I will put

My first baby tooth
So straight and white
My first bike
So small and green

I will put in my box

My favourite baby toy
My first Christmas
So nice and happy
My big red blanky

My box will be made of
Titanium, gold, steel and diamond
With hinges of emerald

In my box I will
Enter a sunny beach
Full of sand and pebbles

In My Box

by Matthew O'Keeffe aged 10

I will put in my box
The sandy-salted sea shells on the sea shore
A teddy with a rumbling belly
The epic Christmas spirit

I will put in my box
The rolling wheels of a car
A touch of the softest towel
The smell of lasagne

I will put in my box
A red-tailed fox, killing a cat
The feeling of the 11+
Passing the hardest thing

I will put in the box
Being myself that I have done before
Getting into trouble at school
The snow flying down

I will put in my box
The taste of a Christmas dinner
The smell of the sea washing everything up
A touch of a bee’s sting

I will jump in my box
And eat up all the bad memories
Never to be thought of again

I Will Put in the Box

by Isobel Heyworth aged 11

I will put in the Box

The soft fluffy feel of my dog’s fur
The time I broke my brother’s baby chair
When I heard the first gurgle of a baby
On the transition days at school when I met my teacher

I will put in the Box

A time for new friends and reuniting with old
Christmas morning opening the best present ever
When I brought my two Guinea Pigs home

I will put in the Box

The quiet bark of a puppy
New friends in Reception
When I almost dropped my baby brother

My box is made from photographs with bronze locks
With all of my memories
On the outside I will store all of my secrets

Carrying all secrets foretold and storing them away
I shall carry my box far and wide
Every second of everyday, every hour, never
Leaving any memory behind
